Synthesis and characterization of dibutyltin compounds with α-amino acids

This study describes the preparation and description of four new complexes: Bu2Sn(AA)Cl (AA = glycine, DL = valine and L = leucine) and Bu2SnPhen2 (Phen = DL-phenylalanine). They were characterized by elemental analyses for carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, chlorine and tin by infrared, 119mSn-Mössbauer and 119mSnRMN spectroscopies and by the applications of TG and DSC techniques in a dynamic helium atmosphere. For the trigonalbipyramidal tin species [Bu2Sn(AA)Cl], AA were co-ordinated bidentatedly by carboxylic oxygen and NH2 group. The Bu2SnPhen2 compound with tin atoms in trans-octahedral sites had the Phen coordinated by both carboxylic oxygen atoms.
